It has been announce by Mr. George Zuehlke, Chairman of the Clark County Agricultural Committee, that Mr. Victor C. Wagner, Vocational Agricultural Instructor at the Greenwood Community schools, has been hired as the new member of the Clark County Extension Service staff as of July 1, 1966.  In his new position as Farm Management Agent, Mr. Wagner will become an additional representative of the University of Wisconsin for Clark County.  Mr. Wagner will be taking Arvid Dopp’s position who will then become County Agricultural Agent on July 1.  At the present time Mr. Ralph Mayer, Agent at Large, is serving in the capacity of Farm Management while Mr. Dopp is doing graduate work at the University of Wisconsin.  Mr. Mayer will be leaving for the University of Nebraska at that time.

 

Mr. Wagner was born and raised near Cleveland, Wis., on a dairy farm.

 

He is a graduate of the Central High School at Sheboygan and is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin with a degree in Agricultural Education.  He has done graduate work at Wis. State University, River Falls.

 

Prior to being Vocational Agriculture Instructor of the Greenwood schools, he was veteran on the Farm Trainer for one year.

 

In the period of time that he has been at Greenwood his FFA Chapters have received seven superior chapter awards, have received the Wis. Youth Cooperative Leadership Award from the Wis. Council of Agriculture, and was selected as one of the four regional winters in the nation for their cooperative effort.  In this period of the time 20 members of the Greenwood chapter have received State Farmer Degrees and have had finalists at the State FFA Speaking Contest a number of times.

 

He is presently a member of the State and National Vocational Agriculture Instructors Association and has been a member of the Executive Board of the State Association.

 

He is married to the former Dorothy Denk of Greenwood, and they have two sons and two daughters.

 

At the present time he is serving as treasurer of the 1966 Clark County June Dairy Month Committee.
