Burssow, Shirl Lee  (30 OCT 1948)

 

The Loyal Methodist church was the scene on Oct/ 30 of the marriage of Miss Shirl Lee Brussow, daughter of Mrs. Clara Brussow of Loyal and Henry Viboda, son of George Vivoda of Greenwood. The Rev. Lee Holmes officiated at the ceremony.

 

A wine gabardine suit, with white accessories, was worn by the bride. Her corsage was of white gardenias.

 

Miss Paula Lubenski of Eau Claire was maid of honor. She wore a brown gabardine suit, with beige accessories, and had a corsage of white gardenias. The best man was Dwain Brussow, brother of the bride.

 

Ushers were Mrs. Fred Cox, Jr. of Loyal and Mrs. Purnell Thompson of Greenwood. Betty Brecht of Loyal was ring bearer.

 

Soloist was Mrs. Calvin Prior, who sang, "Oh Promise Me." "I Love You Truly" and "The Lord’s Prayer," accompanied by Miss Donna Mae Gotter.

 

A reception for 70 guests was held at the bride’s home after the ceremony, and in the evening a dance was given at the Merry Ol’ Gardens in Longwood.

 

Mrs. Vivoda is a graduate of the Loyal high school, with the class of 1943, and the groom attended school ay Willard.

 

Mrs. Viboda has been employed for several years by Dr. G. W. Nelson, local dentist. Her husband is employed by the Olson Transportation Company at Appleton. Following a honeymoon through the southern states, the couple will be at home at 1020 East Vine street, Appleton.
