Schultz, Lois  (16 OCT 1948)

The Trinity Lutheran church here was the setting on Saturday, Oct. 16, for the wedding of Miss Lois Schultz, daughter of Mrs. Joe Schultz, to Ruebed Zimmerman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Zimmerman. The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Donald Schultz.

The Rev. J. C. Langholz officiated at the 2 o’clock double-ring ceremony. E. LaVerne Dahlby of Osseo sang "Oh Promise Me" and "The Lord’s Prayer" accompanied by Miss Eunice Langholz.

The bride’s gown was of heavy white satin. The fitted bodice, which buttoned down the back with self covered buttons, was styled with a high marquisette yoke, edged with a Bertha collar trimmed with seed pearls, long tapering sleeves, and a scalloped peplum, came to a point in the back. She had a hoop in her skirt and a long train. Her lace-trimmed fingertip veil was caught to a heart-shaped headpiece of seed pearls. For her jewelry she wore pearl earrings and necklace, gift from the groom.  She also wore "something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue." She carried a shower bouquet of flesh colored roses and mums.

Miss Arlyle Sackse of Colby, a friend of the couple, was maid of honor. She wore a dress of bay leaf green, slipper satin, with round neckline and cap sleeves, fitted bodice attached to a full skirt with a hoop and bustle back. She wore gloves and hat to match. Her hat was open crown, heart shaped, with a large bow in back, and she carried a colonial bouquet of pink and white carnations.

The bridesmaids were dressed identical to the maid of honor, only in different colors. Miss Pearl Wittling of Milwaukee, a cousin of the bride, was attired in gold, with a hat and gloves to match and a colonial bouquet of yellow and white carnations. Miss Marilyn Henn of Milwaukee, another cousin, was gowned in ice blue, with matching hat and gloves. Her colonial bouquet was of ice blue and white carnations. A third cousin, Miss Patsy Promesberger of Milwaukee, wore an orchid dress, with hat and gloves to match, and carried a colonial bouquet of orchid and white carnations. All of the bride's attendants wore rhinestone chokers, gifts from the bride.

The flower girl was Carol Zimmerman of Merrill, niece of the groom. She wore a long white dress similar to that worn by the bride. She carried a small bouquet identical to  the bride’s. She also wore a gold heart-shaped locket.

The groom’s attendants were Donald Schulz, as best man, and Donald Rowley and Edward Bertz Jr. of Loyal, friends of the couple, and Leonard Leamanczyk of Milwaukee, a cousin of the bride. The groom and all his attendants were dressed in black tuxedos. The ring bearer was Wayne Scheer of Spencer, a cousin of the bride. He was dressed in a dark suit and carried the rings on a bouquet of pompoms and white carnations. Ushers were George Nelson and Fred Adler Jr., both of Loyal, friends of the couple.

Mothers of the bride and groom both wore black dresses and black accessories and had corsages of pink and white carnations.

A reception was held at the bride’s home for about 100 guests. The home was decorated in white, orchid, yellow, green and blue, and large white bells. The bridal table was centered with a three-tier wedding cake. Table waiters were Gennie Hoesley, Ardith Wolfe, Janice Langfeldt, Shirley Bishop and Joan Scheer.

The bride attended the Loyal high school for three years. Then she was employed in Milwaukee for a year and attended Milwaukee vocational school. The groom graduated from the Loyal high school in 1944. He entered the college at Eau Claire for a short time. He then enlisted in the navy and attended school there. He was discharged in 1946, after which he attended school in Kansas City, Kan. He is now employed in Marshfield.
