Stevens, Edward  (30 APRIL 1880-? JULY 1948)

 

Funeral services for Edward Stevens, 68, a lifelong resident of the Town of Sherman, Clark County, will be held at Spencer Thursday afternoon

 

In poor health for a year, he was admitted to St. Joseph;s Hospital at Marshfield last Friday night and died Saturday morning at 8:45 o’clock.

 

Services will be conducted at the Swarthout Funeral home where the body is lying in state, at 1:45 p.m. Thursday, and at 2 o’clock at the Methodist church. The Rev. Raymond Fleming of Marshfield will officiate. Burial will take place at Loyal.

 

Edward Stevens was born April 30, 1880, in the town of Sherman, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lon Stevens. On Dec. 25, 1904, he married Hattie Warner at Loyal, and the family made its home on the present farm in the Town of Shrtman for the past 43 years.

 

He is survived by his wife, a son, Vernon, at home, and two brothers and three sisters: Ruel and Chauncey Stevens, Loyal; Mrs. Elmer (Olive) Knickle, Appleton; Mrs. Mable Austin, Rockford, Ill.; and Mrs. Walter (Verna) Gourlie, Spencer.
