Blazer, Janice Rae (19 OCT 1957)

A double ring ceremony was performed by Rev. DeGalle at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Milwaukee, for Janice Rae Blazer and Raymond Hafemeister on Saturday at a 7:30 o’clock in the evening candlelight service.  The young couple’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Howard Blazer, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Hafemeister of Brookfield, Wis.

The bride was escorted down the aisle on the arm of her father in a gown fashioned of hand clipped Chantilly lace over lustrous slipper satin in the popular and traditional floor length.  The dainty molded bodice was fashioned with a modified scoop neckline which was outlined with lacy scallops.  The long lace sleeves tapered to points over the wrists and were secured with tiny tulle covered buttons.  The bouffant shirred skirt of tulle with lace peplums extended into deep points encircling the skirt.  The gown had a back closing with tiny tulle covered buttons.  Her flowers were of red rose buds and white carnations arranged in a cascade bouquet.

Miss Delores Jackson, Withee, had the honor of serving the bride as maid of honor, with the bride’s cousin, Mrs. Donald Bussard, Milwaukee, and her sister, Miss Carole Blazer, Owen, appearing as bridesmaid.  The girls chose gowns of peacock blue taffeta in floor length and carried cascade bouquet of yellow and white carnations.

James Hafemeister of Brookfield, brother of the groom, was best man, and the groom’s friends served as ushers.  They were Ed Duell and Don Holt, both of Milwaukee.  The men wore black tuxedos.

The altar was beautifully decorated with bouquets of white gladiolas and chrysanthemums.  "The Lord’s Prayer" and "The Twenty-Third Psalm" were sung during the service.

A reception was held at 8:30 o’clock at the North Avenue Auditorium.  Guests attending the wedding were from Tomahawk, Appleton, Chicago, Milwaukee, Brookfield, La Crosse, Withee and Owen.

Mrs. Blazer wore a lilac frock with black and white accessories and Mrs. Hafemeister chose a brown dress with matching accessories.  Both mothers wore a shoulder corsage of yellow rosebuds and yellow carnations.

The bride is a graduate of the Withee High School and is employed at the Harley Davidson Company.  The groom is a University of Wisconsin graduate and is currently employed at the Oilgear Company.  They will reside at 2406A North 53rd St., Milwaukee.
