Haizel, Jeanette (28 SEP 1957)

Making their home in Elmwood Park, Ill., are Eugene G. Fischer, son of Mrs. Barbara Fischer of the town of Maplehurst, and his bride, the former Jeanette Haizel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Haizel, also town of Maplehurst, Taylor County.

St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Medford was the scene of their marriage on Sept. 28, 1957, Rev. R. E. Aden performing the rites.  Guests came for the occasion from Northlake, Stone Park and Chicago, Ill., Milwaukee, Fond du Lac, Clayton and Madison.

Following the church service guests were greeted at a reception at Koolmo’s Ballroom at Gilman, after which the couple took a honeymoon trip through northern Wisconsin and Michigan.

For her wedding, Miss Haizel chose a gown of embroidered nylon featuring a hoop skirt, a scalloped neckline, long sleeves and a bouffant skirt.  Her fingertip veil was attached to a crown of pearls and sequins and she carried a bouquet of white feathered carnations centered with a white orchid.

Serving her sister as matron of honor was Mrs. Eva Heydorn, Northlake, Ill., who was wearing a formal gown of orchid chiffon.  She carried a bouquet of carnations tinted to match her gown.

The bridesmaids were Miss Pauline Koruc of Chicago and Miss Helen Fall of Clayton, Wis., cousins of the bride.  Their gowns of blue and pink were styled identically to the one worn by the matron of honor, as were their flowers.

A niece of the bride, Charlene Thevenin, Chicago, served as flower girl, wearing a mint green hoop skirted frock of nylon.  She carried a bouquet similar to the other attendants.

Attending the groom were his brother, Gerald Fischer, Withee, best man, and a cousin, Edwin Fischer of Medford, groomsman.  They were formally attired in tuxedos.

A graduate of Medford High School, the bride is employed at general office work.  Her husband, a construction worker, is a graduate of Withee High School.
