Mueller, Charles L. (27 October 1924 - 4 June 2010) With Flag 
 

Charles L. Mueller, 85, of Granton died Friday, June 4, 2010 at the House of the Dove Hospice in Marshfield. 
 

Charles was born Oct. 27, 1924, in Chicago, IL, to Leonard and Katherine (Muskow) Mueller. He was educated in and graduated from high school in Chicago.  Charles served in the U. S. Army from July of 1943 until March of 1946 in Buchenwald, Germany. 
 

Charles was united in marriage to Betty J. Darr June 19, 1954, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pittsville. She preceded him in death Sept. 29, 2008.  After marriage they farmed and raised mink in the Town of Sherwood. Charles was employed at the Adler Bakery in Marshfield and for 40 years at Karau’s Bakery, Marshfield. 
 

He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and of Palmer-Ritchie-Thomas Post 153 American Legion of Pittsville. 
 

Charles is survived by his children, Larry Mueller, Chili, Cheryl (John) Hink, Granton, Rose (Cyril) Rakovec, Pittsville; John Mueller, Granton; James Mueller (partner, Jeff McDonald), Wausau; and Connie Reshel, Granton; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Cuevas, Marshfield. 
 

In addition to his wife Betty, Charles was preceded in death by one brother, Edward Mueller and one son-in-law, Randy Reshel. 
 

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at Buchanan Funeral Home in Pittsville, with visitation from 10 a.m. until time of service, Rev. Tom Hahn officiated.  Inurnment was in the Sherwood Cemetery.  Military rites were conducted by Palmer-Ritchie-Thomas Post 153 American Legion of Pittsville at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank the staff and doctors of Marshfield Living Center, St. Joseph’s Hospital Palliative Care, House of the Dove Hospice for their patience and for the care they gave to Charles.
