Mauerer, Joseph F. (18 SEP 1900 - 13 JUL 1956)

 

Joseph F. Mauerer, 55, died suddenly Friday, July 13, 1956, at 2:15 a.m. at Holy Family Hospital in New Richmond following a heart attack.

 

Mr. Mauerer was born Sept. 18, 1900, at Marshfield and on Sept. 24, 1923, married Miss Jennie Peterson in St. Paul.  He was a Soo Line station agent and operator for 39 years and lived at Fort Edwards, Cylon and Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), and since 1941 at Cadott.  Her served as mayor of Withee, was a member of the Cadott Village Board and was active in the affairs of St. Rose of Lima Church Holy Name Society.

 

Surviving are his wife; four sons, Paul, Houston, Texas, John, El Paso, Texas, Robert, U. S. Army in Japan, Peter, at home; one daughter, Mrs. George Rogers, Stevens Point; three brothers, Irving, Madison, George, Beverly Hills, Calif., and Lt. Col. Paul Peterson, Germany; three (only two listed) sisters, Mrs. William James, Urbana, Ill., and Mrs. Gus Weinkauf, San Carlos, Calif., and five grandchildren.

 

Funeral services were held at St. Rose of Lima Church at Cadott Tuesday at 10:00 a.m.  The body was at the Leiser Funeral Home after Monday morning and the rosary was recited at the funeral home at 8:00 p.m.
