Stasek, Shirley (7 JUL 1956)

The Rev. L. C. Brenton read the double ring wedding ceremony at two o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, July 7th, 1956, here, when Miss Shirley Ann Stasek became the bride of Milford D. Ewert.  The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul E. Stasek of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Ewert of the town of Green Grove (Clark Co.).

The altar at St. Katherine’s Episcopal Church was decorated with bouquets of white mixed flowers.

The bride, who was escorted to the altar by her father, wore a floor length gown of Chantilly lace over tulle and satin.  The fitted bodice had long tapering sleeves and a V neckline outlined in tulle.  The very full skirt was of Chantilly lace over tulle and satin.

Her very fine nylon net fingertip veil was held by a jeweled tiara.  The veil was edged in dainty lace.  She carried an arm bouquet of red roses and stephanotis.  Stephanotis were tied to the white streamers of the bouquet.

Miss Gaymond Stasek attended her sister as maid of honor, and bridesmaids were Darlene Burhop, cousin of the bride, and Mrs. Myron Ewert, sister-in-law of the groom.

Miss Stasek wore a gown of white rayon embroidered net over blue taffeta which styled a fitted bodice in taffeta and a scooped neckline.  Two sashes extended down the back.  The bridesmaids wore a gowns identical to that of the maid of honor’s, theirs being in yellow.  The girls carried colonial bouquets of carnations to match their gowns.

White dinner jackets and dark blue trousers were worn by Paul Cline, best man, and groomsmen, Paul Stasek, Jr., and Myron Ewert.

Mrs. Ray Ammentorp was organist and Carol Wagner sang.  Selection chosen for the occasion was "Because."

A reception was held immediately after the ceremony at the Meadowview Country Club.  Dinner was served at 4:30 p.m. in the church parlors where the table was decorated with pink garden roses.

Out of town guests attended the wedding were from Unity, Spencer, Marshfield, Milwaukee, Colby, Sussex, Thorp, Elgin Ill., Dorchester, Abbotsford, Stetsonville, Medford, Wis. Rapids, Eau Claire and Chicago, Ill.
