Anderson, Elsie (25 OCT 1947)

Miss Elsie Betty Anderson of Chicago and Dennis Ward Larson were united in marriage in a double-ring candlelight ceremony at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25, in the Chicago Lawn Presbyterian church. The Rev. Rolland C. Stone officiated.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was attired in traditional satin and lace. Her low-torso and long fitted sleeves were made from imported French lace, and the sweetheart neckline was set with rhinestones and seed pearls. The full skirt and short train were of white Skinner satin. The lace-edged fingertip illusion veil fell from a tiara of pearlized orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of calla lilies and wore a string of pearls, which was a gift from the groom.

Miss Kay Larson, the groom’s sister, was her only attendant. She was gowned in aqua nylon taffeta, matching sweetheart headpiece, trimmed with pink roses and wore pink mitts. She carried a hand-bouquet of pink roses. A brother of the bride, Edgar Anderson attended the groom.

The bride’s sister, Miss Evelyn Anderson sang "Because," "I Love You" and "At Dawning." She wore yellow taffeta and a corsage of pink roses.

A reception was held in the church parlors immediately following the ceremony. Smorgasbord was served to the 125 guests present.

Among those who attended the wedding were Mrs. Richard Larson Sr. and Misses Julie Ann Larson and Eunice Langholz of Loyal, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Larson and daughter of Badger and Albert Larson and Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Miner of Silvis, Ill.

Te bride is a graduate of Gage Park high school (Chicago), with the class of 1945, being one of the "Top Ten." For 16 months she was employed in the long lines department of the Illinois Bell Telephone Co. and then changed her employment to become receptionist in the public relations department of the Standard Oil Co., where her entire time was devoted to rural youth organizations, 4-H clubs and Future Farmers of America. The groom is a graduate of the Loyal high school, with the class of 1940, and completed one year of the University of Wisconsin short course in agriculture on a scholarship.

Following a honeymoon spent in Illinois and Wisconsin, the young couple is now living on the groom’s farm, located one mile west of Loyal.

To the newlyweds, the Loyal Tribune extends its wishes for a long and happy married life.
