Anderson, Arlene L. (17 SEP 1955)

Two young people from Waukegan, Ill., entered the First Congregational Church at Owen Saturday, Sept. 17, 1955, to exchange marriage vows.  They were Miss Arlene Linda Anderson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sig Anderson, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), and Charles William Sneed, son of Mrs. Beulah Sneed.

The bride, who carried a bouquet of white carnations interspersed with folds of wide white satin ribbon, was gowned in Chantilly lace and nylon tulle.  The long sleeved lace bodice had a tulle yoke inserted with lace forming a high neckline.  Lace inserts were repeated in the waltz length bouffant skirt.  The fingertip veil of illusion was attached to a crown encrusted with tiny pearls.

Mrs. Janet Niemi of Waukegan was the matron of honor in a pale turquoise nylon net waltz length frock with fuchsia sash and topped with a quilted jacket.  She carried deep pink carnations.

Similar flowers were carried by the bridesmaid, Miss Donna Mae Anderson, a sister of the bride from Owen, who also was dressed like the matron of honor.  Richard Niemi, Waukegan, was the best man and Robert S. Anderson, Owen, a brother of the bride, was groomsman.

Following the nuptial rites a luncheon was served at the Woodland Hotel in Owen.  A home in Waukegan, Ill., is awaiting their return from a honeymoon being spent in the Wisconsin Dells.

The bride, a graduate of Owen High School, is employed by the Fansteel Metallurgical Corp.  Her husband, who was graduated from Belmont School in Mississippi, is an employee of the Coca Cola Co.
