Rogstad Delores (22 MAY 1947)

During a nuptial high mass at 9 a.m. Thursday, May 22, at St. John’s Catholic church in Marshfield, Miss Depores E. Rogstad of Marshfield, a former Loyal girl, exchanged wedding vows with Raymond John LaBarge, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred LaBarge, of route one of Loyal. The bride is the daughter of Edward Rogstad of Bismark, N.D.

The Rev. Charles H. Herberg was the officiating clergyman, and the altar of St. John’s church was decorated with vases of gladioli and lighted tapers.

Attendants at the wedding were Miss Dorothy Rodstad of Loyal, sister of the bride, as maid of honor; Shirley Mae Wolf of Milwaukee, the bride’s cousin, and Miss Ruth Ann Seubert of Milwaukee, sister of the groom, as bridesmaids, and little Marian Rogstad, the bride’s youngest sister, as flower girl.

The groom’s attendants were Marvin Seubert, his brother from Antigo, as best man; Donald Weyhmiller of Loyal, as groomsman, and little Bobby Draxler of Stratford, the bride’s cousin, ringbearer.

Alecon lace inserts distinguished the white chiffon wedding gown worn by the bride, two inserts extending from the shoulders of the princess-styled dress to the hemline at the front and two more at the back. The train of the dress was inserted with lace, too.

Her veil of illusion was entrained and was attached to a tiara. Her three strand pearl necklace was a gift from the groom. The bridal bouquet of pink roses was tied with white satin ribbon.

For "something borrowed," the bride wore a pair of pearl earrings belonging to her aunt, Mrs. Anton Draxler of Stratford; she used a "blue" hatpin to secure her veil and carried an :Old" lace handkerchief belonging to her grandmother, Mrs. Clara Burr of Stratford.

White chiffon was used for the maid of honor’s dress, which had a square neckline and short sleeves, edged with lace. Three rows of lace ruffles decorated her skirt. Her ensemble was completed by a white floral headdress and long gloves, and her bouquet was comprised of pink roses and white carnations, tied with pale blue ribbon.

The maid of honor wore a double-strand pearl necklace, and the two bridesmaids had single-strand pearls. All three attendants had pearl earrings, gifts of the bride.

The dinner for 75 guests was served at the home of the bride’s brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Rogstad, here. Their home was decorated in pink, blue and white streamers, and the bridal table was centered with twin wedding cakes, topped with fresh pink roses. That evening a wedding dance was given at the Marshfield Country ballroom.

Following their wedding trip and after June 11, Mr. and Mrs. LaBarge will be at home to their friends on his father’s farm. Both young people attended the Loyal high school.

Guests from away, other than those fromLoyal and Marshfield were: Ed Rogstad of Bismark, N.D.; Mrs. F. Math Wolf and daughter, Shirley Mae, Mrs. Conrad Seubert and Miss Ruth Ann Seubert, all of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Seubert of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Blazel and Mr. and Mrs. Francis Seubert of Dorchester; Mrs. Wilmer Drollinger of Auburndale; Mr. and Mrs. Anton Draxler, Mr. and Mrs. L. S. Burr and Mrs. Clara Burr of Stratford; Marvin Seubert of Antigo and Mr. and Mrs. William Kleemeier of Schofield.

The Loyal Tribune joins their many friends in wishing them a long and happy journey through life.
