Scribner, Karen (Marriage - 28 June 1958) 
 

In a wedding ceremony held in the Methodist Church, Cumberland, Saturday afternoon, Miss Karen Scribner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Scribner of Comstock, was united in marriage was united in marriage with Gene Zaske, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Arndt of Thorp, and formerly of Neillsville.  The Rev. Arvid Morey officiated.  
 

Miss Patricia Jeffery, Cumberland, was maid of honor; and Miss Nancy Hornigold, Wisconsin Rapids, was bridesmaid. 
 

The bride was attired in a floor-length white traditional satin gown, with a fingertip veil, and carried baby orchids and stephanotis. Her attendants wore blue flocked nylon over taffeta and matching blue earrings, gifts from the bride. 
 

The bride’s mother was attired in pink lace with accessories; the groom’s mother wore dark beige taffeta and chiffon with light beige accessories. The groom’s grandmother, Mrs. R. J. Rondorf, formerly of Neillsville, was dressed in navy blue lace. 
 

Roger Turenne, Thorp, was bestman.  Lloyd Ludkey, Fond du Lac, was groomsman.  Ushers were Mike Svirnoff, Minneapolis, and Howard Brown, Milwaukee.  All were attired in midnight blue tuxedos with white coats. 
 

Miss Mary Barwick, Racine, sang, with Miss Dianna Stainhofer, Bloomington, as organist.   
 

Floral decorations consisted of white gladioli and blue delphinium.  The church was filled with relatives and friends who attended from Thorp, Neillsville, Granton, and from other cities. 
 

Attending from Neillsville were: Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Short, Miss Arlene Gerhardt, Mrs. Roberta Davis and Mrs. Charles Neff, Jr.; Mr. and Mrs. Dan Nickel and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hasz attended from Granton; and Mrs. Rose Svirnoff and sons, Bradley and Mike, formerly of Neillsville, attended from Minneapolis, accompanied by Mike’s fiancée, Miss Sandra Zaidel. 
 

The groom was born and raised in Neillsville, was graduated from the Neillsville grade school and completed two years at Neillsville High School.  He was graduated from Thorp High School in 1954 and in June from the University of Wisconsin, with a Bachelor’s degree in commerce and accounting.  He is now employed in Minneapolis.  He received a second lieutenant commission from four years with R. O. T. C. at the University and will be assigned to six months’ duty next April.  He is a member of Beta Alpha Spi fraternity, an Eagle Scout, and belongs to the Scouting service fraternity.   
 

The bride was graduated from the University of Wisconsin in June with a Bachelor’s degree in education. 
 

The couple will be at home July 1 at 3238 Bryant Avenue, South, Apt. 36, Minneapolis.
