Phillips, Ella (? - 3 June 1958) 
 

Mrs. Ella (McGinnis) Phillips, 86, a former resident of Neillsville, died June 3, in a nursing home in Milwaukee. 
 

She was the daughter of the late Peter and Julia (Welsh) McGinnis, and is survived by two sons, Milo of Milwaukee and James Phillips of Reedsville; a daughter, Miss Alice Phillips of Milwaukee, and four grandchildren. 
 

A requiem high Mass was read Friday morning at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The Rev. Fr. Joseph Eisenmann officiated.  Burial was made in the parish cemetery.  A general rosary service was held Thursday evening at the Bergemann Funeral Home. 
 

Pallbearers were: Frank Blumenthaler, Art Flynn, Nick Letsch, Herman North, Harold and Linus Prock. 
 

People from out of town attending the services included: Miss Alice Phillips and Milo Phillips, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. James Phillips, Reedsville; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Heckman, Merrill; Mrs. Eloise O’Day, Merrill; Dr. and Mrs. Phillip Jorgenson and family Thorp.
