Malmgren, Mary (29 DEC 1954)

The Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen, was the scene of a lovely wedding ceremony when Mary Malmgren, daughter of Mrs. Francis Luzovec, Willard (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Louis Novak, son of Mr. and Mrs. Matt Novak, route 1, Owen (Clark Co.).

The Rev. H. L. Crubel officiated at the ceremony read at 9 a.m., Dec. 29th, 1954.

The bride chose her two nieces, Miss Frances Luzovec of Baraboo, and Miss Darlene Rodak of Chicago, as her attendants, while the bridegroom was attended by two nephews, Robert and William Kobatch.

The bride wore a gown of silver blue lace over pink taffeta and carried a colonial bouquet of white and pink carnations.

The bridal attendants wore gowns of pastel pink with matching pink hats and carried colonial bouquets of blue and white carnations.

Immediately following the marriage service a wedding breakfast and reception was enjoyed in the parish dining room, which friends had attractively and appropriately decorated with seasonal flowers, tapered candles and a large three-tier wedding cake served as the center piece at the bridal party’s table.

The couple will make their home in Owen, residing in the First Ward of the city and will continue to operate the Club DeLite Bowling Lanes, which are owned by Mrs. Novak, while he will also continue to work his farm southeast of Owen.

Out of town guests attending the wedding came from Greenwood, Willard, Thorp and Chicago.
