Schoonover, Joan  (24 MAR 1947)

Miss Joan Schoonover, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Buford Schoonover of route two, Loyal, and Eugene Colby, son of Raymond Colby, were united in marriage at 9 p.m. on Mar. 24. The marriage ceremony took place in the Little Brown church, near Nashawa, Ia.

The bride is a graduate of the Loyal high school, class o 1946, and worked in Beloit until February, when she returned to her home here,

The groom has lived in Loyal nearly all his life. He is a graduate of the Loyal high school, class of 1941. He left on Jan. 12,1943 and served in the armed forces for three years, being discharged on Jan. 12, 1946. About two years of his service were spent in the Pacific theater of operations. Since his return from the service, he has been employed by his father here.

For the present time, Mr. and Mrs. Colby are making their home with the bride’s parents.

The Loyal Tribune extends to the young couple its wishes for happiness.
