Frank, Dr. John H. (4 October 1859 - 29 August 1956) 
 

Dr. John H. Frank, M. D., 86, of 500 Clay Street, Neillsville, died August 29 at his home.  Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.  The Rev. Alfred Schewe, pastor, officiated; and burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery. The services were conducted by the Georgas Funeral Home.  
 

Dr. Frank was born October 4, 1869, at Jackson. He received his education in the schools of Watertown, and Keokuk, Ia., and was graduated from Milwaukee County Physicians and Surgeons College (Now Marquette University) at Milwaukee.  His first practice was at Antigo, where he resided for a year.  He located in Neillsville in 1900, and for approximately 56 years served this locality.  He was still active at the time of his death. 
 

His marriage to Bertha Sauter took place December 22, 1898, at Watertown. 
 

Dr. Frank is survived by his wife and two sons, Alonzo of Waukesha; and Dr. H. A. Frank, of Neillsville; a sister, Mrs. Louise Froelich of Milwaukee; and two brothers, Theodore of Athens, and Dr. George of Milwaukee. 
 

He was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and was a past member of the American Medical Society.  
 

Pallbearers were: David Parry, Walter Johnson, Donald E. Peters, Kurt Listeman, Ray Filitz and Claude Westphal.  Flower ladies were: Mrs. Lowell Schoengarth and Mrs. Morris Blodgett.  Wilfred Galstad sang "The Lord’s Prayer," accompanied at the organ by Victor Lehman. 
 

People from out of town attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo rank, Waukesha; Mr. and Mrs. Norman Frank, Mr. and Mrs. Carlton Frank and Mrs. Chris Scherz, Athens; Rev. and Mrs. Edgar Melville, Nasonville; and Miss Ethel Graves, and Dwight Graves.
