Williams, Dawn LaVonne (Marriage - 12 March 1955) 
 

The Methodist Church of Neillsville was the scene on March 12, 1955, of the marriage of Miss Dawn LaVonne Williams to Herbert G. Smith, both of Neillsville.  The parents of the young couple are Mr. and Mrs. Melford Williams and Mr. and Mrs. Bergen Smith.  
 

The Rev. Virgil Nulton, pastor of the church, performed the double ring ceremony at an 8:00 p.m. candlelight service before an altar decorated with white gladioli. 
 

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a powder blue suit with white accessories. A corsage of pink carnations and white hyacinths was pinned to her shoulder line. 
 

She was attended by Mary S. McCarty as her maid of honor. 
 

Arlo Smith attended his brother as best man.  Ushering at the church were Orrin Williams and Charles Straube. 
 

A reception for 60 guests was held in the church parlors following the ceremony. 
 

After a week’s wedding trip to southern Wisconsin Mr. and Mrs. Smith will make their home in Milwaukee, where he is employed by the A. O. Smith Corp.  Both young people attended the Neillsville High School. 
 

The following attended the wedding: Marcia and Debra Smith and Oakley Smith of Rockford, Ill.; Ronald Wallace, Rockford; Georgia and Donald Benedict, Loyal; Luann Schmidtke, Granton; Opal Woodford, Eau Claire; Mrs. Marie Hause, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Straube, Milwaukee; Mrs. Nettie Smith, Madison; Mr. and Mrs. Richard King, Dancy; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Jakobi and children, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Langfeldt, Marshfield.
