Martinsen, Marjorie  (12 NOV 1946)

In a double-ring wedding ceremony at Trinity Lutheran church here on Tuesday, Nov. 12, Miss Marjorie Martinson, daughter of Mrs. Ed Johnson of Owen, became the bride of Ruben Pieper, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pieper of Loyal. The 2:30 p.m. ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. C. Langholz.

Miss Delores Pieper sang "Oh Perfect Love" and "Take My Hand, Dear Father," and "Lead You Me" at the service. Attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Howard Grandy of Withee, Miss Phyllis Hacker of Owen, and Frank Pieper of Loyal.

The bride was dressed in a white satin gown with a net overskirt. A beaded headdress held her floor length veil, and she carried red roses and white pompoms. Her pearl jewelry was a gift of the groom.

Mrs. Grandy was attired in a blue net dress and veil and held pink carnations and white pompoms. Miss Hacker wore a pink net dress and carried a bouquet similar to the matron of honor’s.

About 50 immediate relatives and friends of the bridal couple attended a supper at the Ed Johnson home following the ceremony. The home was candlelighted, and a two-layer wedding cake graced the center of the bridal table.

A dance was given at Walter’s Pavilion at Colby in the evening.

The bride was graduated from the Owen high school with the class of 1945. Since that she has been employed at the Owen box factory. The groom is engaged in farming on route one, Loyal, where the couple now lives.

Among the guests from away who attended the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Cherney of Milwaukee.

To the newlyweds, The Loyal Tribune extends its wishes for happiness.
