Cook, Linda  (15 FEB 1923-28 SEPT 2009)

 

Linda M. Cook, 86, died peacefully on Monday, Sept. 28, 2009, at Wausau Manor, Wausau.

 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 1, from 10 a.m. until the service time at 11 a.m. at United Methodist Church, Spencer. Burial will take place in the West Spencer Cemetery.

 

Linda M. Vincent was born on Feb. 15, 1923, in the town of Beaver, to Perry and Julia (nee Slocum) Vincent. She graduated from Loyal High School. She married Charles Cook on April 23, 1942, in Loyal Methodist parsonage. After their marriage, the couple farmed in the town of Beaver until 1964, when they moved to Spencer.

 

She enjoyed embroidering, flower and vegetable gardening, and quilting. She will always be remembered in the beautiful quilts that she presented to her family and friends.

 

She is lovingly survived by her children, Patricia (John) Schultz, Wausau, Roger (Pat) Cook, Wausau, Shirley (Gerald) Lemke, Wausau, Scott (Dawn) Cook, Wausau, Robert (Sheila) Cook, Appleton, Thomas (Nancy) Cook, Appleton, Lynn (Wendy) Cook, Appleton, Marjorie (Ray) Diers, Weston, and Carol (Dan) Blakey, Granton; 22 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She will truly be missed.

 

Preceding her in death were her parents, Percy and Julia Vincent; her husband, Charles Cook; three sons, Marvin Cook, Harvey Cook and Jeffrey Cook; one daughter, Ellen Blanchard; and two brothers, Murel Vincent and Verlyn Vincent.
