Kimble, John H. (21 OCT 1863 - 15 JUL 1954)

 

John Harvey Kimble was born in De Witt, Iowa, Oct. 21, 1863.  His father moved the family to a farm near Sibley, Iowa where he grew to manhood.  There he met and married Helen Dagel, on Sept. 13, 1887.  To this union 11 children were born.  Four sons preceded him in death, Harry Paul, Randall and an infant.

 

Mr. Kimble farmed in Iowa, Minnesota and South Dakota before coming to Wisconsin in April 1919.  He owned and operated a farm at Maplehurst until December 1942.  Because of failing health he and his wife went to Milwaukee to reside with their daughter. 

 

On May 17 he entered the hospital for an emergency gall bladder operation, from which he never rallied.  He passed away July 15, 1954.

 

Burial was at Riverside Cemetery.

 

Surviving are his wife, Helen, 6 daughters, Mrs. Thos. Dagel (Flossie), Mrs. Wm. Potter (Bertha), Mrs. Emory Smith (Myrtle), Mrs. Stanley Stryk (Etta), Mrs. Oscar Becker (Isabell), Mrs. Eldo Wagner (Evelyn); one sons, John Q., 6 sons-in-law, 2 daughters-in-law, 31 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
