Wilson, Oliver (14 Aug. 1931 - 11 Nov. 1954) 
 

Oliver Wilson, 23, Milan, was killed instantly and his companion, Miss Mary Meier, 18, of Chelsea, was severely injured early Thursday morning when the car in which they were riding plunged from Highway 13 and smashed into a driveway abutment, three miles north of Medford. 
 

Miss Meier, who was asleep at the time of the accident, is hospitalized at Medford and according to reports will be there two more weeks. Both Miss Meier and Mr. Wilson were thrown out of the car as it landed back on the roadway. 
 

Funeral services for Mr. Wilson were held Monday afternoon at the Hartwig & Ruesch Funeral Home, at Medford, with the Rev. Fred Kollath, of Peace Evangelical and Reformed church, of Dorchester, officiating. The deceased was a member of that church. Internment was made in the Holway Lutheran cemetery. 
 

Pallbearers were: Art Bailkowski, Don and Allen Tielke, Jim and Ted Swanson and Dan La Shay. 
 

Oliver Wilson was born Aug. 14, 1931, at Medford and received his education in the Colby public school and Abbotsford high school. He spent his boyhood near Colby and after leaving high school was employed at Laabs Cheese Factory at Milan for three years. From 1949 to 1951, he served in the Coast Guard and the past three years was a truck driver for Francis Melvin.  
 

The late model car in which the fatal accident occurred, was purchased by Mr. Wilson only about a week ago.  
 

Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John O. Wilson, Route 2, Athens; six sisters, Mrs. Arno (Udelle) Fasse, Milan, and Diane, Rosalie, Judith, Mary Lou and Gail Wilson, at home; and a brother, Cpl. Duane Wilson, Marine Base, Quantico, Va.  
 

Cpl. Wilson came home Sunday and was given an emergency leave of 20 days. 
 

Among the many friends who attended the funeral were the personnel of the Francis Melvin Ready Mix Concrete plant. Relatives from away included Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Swanson, Gary and Richie, Oneida, S. Dak.; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Swanson, Ted, Jim and Marvin, Gettysburg, S. Dak.; Mrs. Elmer Lee, Lebanon, S. Dak.; Mrs. Louise Ostman, Hopkins, Minn.; Mrs. Nels Rasmussen, Racine; Mr. and Mrs. Oren La Shay and Linda, Mr. and Mrs. Harold La Shay, Mr. and Mrs. George La Shay and Mrs. Arthur La Shay, all of Fond du Lac.
