Kauffman, Wesley (10 May 1867 - 26 Sept. 1956)  
 

Wesley Kauffman, 89, died Wednesday morning, of cancer, at the Havenet Nursing Home at Owen. He had been in poor health the past five years. 
 

The body is lying in state at the Zink Funeral Home where funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock with burial following in the Abbotsford cemetery. The Rev. Richard Harrison will be the officiating clergyman.  
 

Wesley Kauffman was born May 10, 1867 in Sandusky, Ohio. On Oct. 4, 1894, he was married to Hattie Fosnow in the town of Aken, Richland county. They farmed for a time at Graham, Iowa, and then near Withee. In 1927, they came to Abbotsford.  
 

He is survived by three sons, Loris, Milwaukee; Fred, Unity; and Don, Abbotsford; and two daughters, Mrs. George (Elma) Gurney, Neillsville; and Mrs. Joe (Elsie) Fleischman, Abbotsford. There are 17 grand children and 11 great grand children.  
 

Mr. Kauffman was preceded in death by his wife, who died June 11. He was the last survivor of a family of 13 children.

Final rites for Wesley Kauffman, 89, who died Sept. 25, were held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the Zink Funeral Home. The Rev. Richard Harrison conducted the services during which Richard Kennedy sang "Abide With Me," and "Be Still, My Soul." Miss Lois Ehrenreich played the piano accompaniment. 
 

The pallbearers, who were grand sons of the deceased, were Maynard Kauffman, Louis and Charles Guerney, James Brunkhorst, Edwin Frome and Don Kilty. 
 

The Misses Lucille and Barbara Guerney, Darlene and Sharon Kilty, grand daughters, carried the flowers. 
 

His five surviving children were here for the funeral as well as relatives from Milwaukee, Neillsville, Colby, Unity, Dorchester, and Abbotsford.
