Murphy, June, (05 JAN. 1946)

The Loyal Methodist church was the scene of a wedding at 11 a.m. on Jan. 5, when Miss June Murphy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Murphy of Owen, became the bride of Bernard Clouse, son of Mr. Ira Clouse of Loyal. The Rev. Myron E. Taylor performed the double ring ceremony. Mrs. Calvin Prior sang "Precious Lord, Take our hands," and "Together Life’s Pathway We Tread," accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Arnold Wichlund.

The bride approached the altar in a white marquisite wedding gown, styled with a ballerina skirt and full length sleeves puffed at the shoulders and ending in points over the wrists. Her full length veil, edged with lace was caught to a crown of orange blossoms. She carried an arm bouquet of pink roses and white and yellow pompoms. She wore a heart-shaped gold locket, a gift of the groom.

Miss Lois Svenson of Eau Claire, who served as maid of honor, wore a pink colored satin and net frock and shoulder length veil to match. Miss Norma Murphy, sister of the bride, and Miss Shirley Gross served as the bridesmaids and wore identical gowns of blue net over taffeta and matching veils. All three attendants wore wrist corsages of pink roses and white pompoms.

Dennis Larson of Loyal attended as best man, while Lavern Reigel of Marshfield and Elgy Clouse, brother of the groom, attended as groomsmen. The groom and his attendants all wore conventional dark suits with white pompom boutonnieres.

Following the ceremony, 50 guests were entertained at dinner at the groom’s home, where blue and white bells canopied the ceiling, and a three-tier wedding cake formed the centerpiece at the bride’s table.

The same evening the newlyweds left on a honeymoon to southern Wisconsin, Illinois, and Iowa. The couple is now at home to friends on the groom’s farm near Loyal.

Mr. Clouse was a graduate of the Loyal high school in 1939 and his bride is a graduate of St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in Marshfield with the class of 1945. Prior to her wedding she had been employed at the Holy Cross hospital in Merrill.

Guests from away were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Reigel and sons of Madison and Mrs. Arthur Rupp of Friend, Nebr.

The Loyal Tribune extends to the young couple its wishes for happiness.
