Halpin, Thomas Robert (18 JAN. 1861-26 DEC. 1945)

Thomas Richard Halpin. 84, who was born at La Crosse on Jan. 18, 1861, passed away here on Saturday, Dec. 22. He was buried in the family lot at Alma Center on Dec. 26, following a requiem mass at St. Mary’s Catholic church here.

The eldest of five sons of Stephen and Ellen Halpin, he moved with his parents to Garden Valley from La Crosse in early childhood. He was married to Mary Ann Laney at Neillsville on Oct. 27, 1892, and they lived on their farm in South Alma until 1932, when they sold their home and moved to Neillsville.

Four children were born to this union-Leo, who died at the age of two years, Paul and Ted of Loyal, and Mrs.L. K. (Irene) Poulsen of Chicago. Mrs. Halpin died on Oct. 1, 1937, and Mr. Halpin has since spent part of his time with his two sons here and the remainder at his home in Neillsville.

The Tribune extends to the survivors its sympathy in their loss.
