Carolyn D. Schulz, 85, formerly of Huntley, Ill., died on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009, in Marshfield. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., on Thursday, Aug. 20, at the James A. O’Connor Funeral Home, 11603 E. Main St., Huntley, and continues on Friday, Aug. 21, prior to services from 10-11 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, 11008 N. Church St., Huntley. The Rev. Carles W. Kittel will officiate. Burial will be in McHenry County Memorial Park, Woodstock, Ill.

Carolyn D. Drafall was born on Sept 14, 1923, in Algonquin, Ill., to Ernest and Frieda (nee Rosenthal) Drafall. She was a graduate of Dundee High School and married Charles H. Schulz on Sept. 22, 1943, in Crystal Lake, Ill. They lived in the Crystal Lake and Huntley area all their married life. She had worked at the Jewel Food Store in Crystal Lake for more than 25 years. She was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Huntley, and the Huntley Senior Citizens.

Survivors include her daughter, Phyllis (Donald) Finck, Greenwood; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, a brother, Ralph (the late Doris) Drafall, Huntley, and sisters-in-law, Florence Arsenty, Walworth, and Charlene Schulz, Harvard, Ill.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband "Charlie" on April 22, 1988; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church or to the Huntley Senior Citizens.
