Dearth, Clara (10 MAY 1952)

The Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Owen, was the scene of a lovely wedding ceremony at two o’clock Saturday, May 10th, 1952, when Miss Clara Dearth and Marvin Joseph Tauchen repeated the nuptial vows after Rev. H. D. Wagner.

The bride is the former Clara Ann Dearth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Death, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), and the groom’s mother, Mrs. Emma Tauchen, lives in Dorchester, Wis.

Potted ferns and baskets of mixed flowers were among the decorations in the church.  Alice Tauchen, the groom’s sister, sang "Because" and "The Lord’s Prayer."

The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Ray Dearth.  She was attired in a gown of lace and ninon and the bodice was embroidered with pearls and rhinestones.  The full gathered skirt extended into a full train and her fingertip veil of pure illusion fitted to a pearl band with a pearl tulip design on both sides.  Her bouquet included white roses, orchid carnations, and baby breath with white net bows.

Audrey Jensen was maid of honor, and Arlene Tauchen, Dorchester, the groom’s cousin, was bridesmaid.

Orchid and sky blue satin and lace gowns, respectively, were worn by the bride.  The skirts had lace peplums and the bodices were also of lace.  Their headbands matched their dresses and each carried a bouquet of white gladioli with edges tinted to match their gowns.

Robert Stark, nephew of the bride, as best man, and George Rau, Dorchester, groomsmen, also ushered, Donald Wolf also ushered.

The bride’s mother wore a wine silk dress with beige accessories and the groom’s mother, a green two-piece silk dress with brown accessories.  Each had a corsage of carnations and sweet peas.

A reception was held for 175 guests at 4:30 p.m. in the Owen Community Hall which was decorated with white, orchid, and blue streamers, and white bells and candles.  A wedding dance was held in the Memorial Hall at Dorchester, Wis.

Mrs. Tauchen is well known in this community being a graduate of the Owen Public Schools and fro the past year or better was employed in the office of the Frederick Post Company.  Her husband is a graduate of the Dorchester Public Schools and since, that time has pursued the occupation of farming.
