Steinmetz, Roselyn (Janssen) (April 2, 1932 - July 14, 2009) 
 

Roselyn Steinmetz, 77, passed away at the Colonial Center in Colby, Wisconsin on Tuesday, July 14, 2009.

 
Roselyn was born on April 2, 1932 in Stanley to Jacob and Rose (Vandenberg) Janssen.
 
 

She graduated from Stanley High School at the top of her class in 1950.  
 

In 1951 she married Marvin Steinmetz and later divorced.  
 

Roselyn dedicated her life to raising her children, homemaking, farming, and volunteering at St. Mary’s Church functions. She loved reading and visiting with family and friends.

 
Roselyn is survived by her children; Kevin Steinmetz, Colby, Brian (Sheila) Steinmetz, Dorchester, Karen Hawk, Marshfield, Kerry (Cathy) Steinmetz, Marshfield, Kay Steinmetz, Syracuse, NY, and Kim (Gary) Decker, Dorchester; her grandchildren, Chad and Sara Steinmetz (fiancé Joey Larson), Jennifer and Corey Hawk, Nathan (Mari) Steinmetz, Andrea "Annie" Steinmetz, Justin and Megan Decker; one great-grandchild, Alden; and sisters and brother, Leone Wilkom, Robert (Phyllis) Janssen, Dorothy (Robert) Cance, Ida Mae (Don) Lengyel.

 
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Rose Janssen; a brother, Giles Janssen; and sisters, Betty Bowen and Sister Rosaline.

 
Services for Roselyn were held Saturday, July 18, 2009 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Colby, Wis. Father Dan Hackel presided. Burial of her ashes will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in the town of Colby, Wis.

 
The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home of Abbotsford assisted the family with arrangements.
