Katherine Klein, 61, Stevens Point, died May 23, 2009, at St. Michaels Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. 
 

A celebration of her life was held May 27 at St. Stephen Catholic Church, Stevens Point, with Rev. John Potaczek presiding. Burial followed at St. Stephen Cemetery. 
 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Stevens Point Noon Lions.

Katherine W. Klein, 61, 729 Ben's Lane, Stevens Point, a longtime worker at Tradehome Shoes in Stevens Point, died Saturday, May 23, 2009, at St. Michael's Hospital after a battle with cancer. 
 
A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Stephen Catholic Church, with the Rev. John Potaczek officiating. Burial will follow at St. Stephen Cemetery. 
 
Visitation will be at Boston Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and at the church from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the service. 
 
Donations can be made to the Stevens Point Noon Lions in lieu of flowers.

Mrs. Klein was born April 3, 1948, in Athens, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Theresa (Fleischman) Weigand. She was a 1966 graduate of Athens High School. 
 
She was married to Ronald Klein on Oct. 11, 1969, at St. Anne Catholic Church in Wausau. 
 
She worked with her husband at Tradehome Shoes for 31 years. 
 
She was a member of the Stevens Point Noon Lions, the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Backcourt Club and St. Stephen Catholic Church. 
 
She was known for baking pies for family, friends, co-workers and the Noon Lions Club, and to some she was known as "The Pie Lady." 
 
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Dr. Jesse (Denise), Cincinnati, Ohio, and Christopher, Inver Grove Heights, Minn.; one brother, Larry (Ann) Weigand, Athens; and one grandson, Nikolas Klein, Cincinnati, Ohio.
