Manecke, Orville W.  (November 13, 1932 - June 10, 2009) 
 

Orville W. Manecke, 76, Edgar, died Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. 
 

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 15, 2009 at St. John Lutheran Church ELCA, County Hwy N, Edgar. Rev. Al Houts will preside.  
 

Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 14, 2009 at St. John Lutheran Church and again from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service Monday, all at the church. 
 

Peterson-Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar is assisting the family with arrangements.

Orville W. Manecke, 76, Edgar, died peacefully Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at Saint Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, with his family by his side. 
 

He was born Nov. 13, 1932, to Otto and Alvina (Hagen) Manecke.  
 

On Aug. 28, 1954, he married Marjorie Podevels. Orville is a U.S. Army veteran serving from February 1953 to 1955. His entire life, he was a truck driver, working for himself and later for Len Leffel Trucking and County Concrete. 
 

His greatest passions were his family, playing cards, bingo, drinking coffee and socializing. Everywhere he went, he made a friend. 
 

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Manecke, Edgar; 11 children, Randy (Barb) Manecke, Marathon, Sandy (Kenneth) Herring, Sacramento, Calif., Steven (Cindy) Manecke, Wausau, Bonnie (Kenneth) Leitermann, Marathon, Nancy (Jerry) Jagmin, Tomahawk, Lori (Alan) Nowak, Edgar, Patricia (Vernon) Matushak, Wausau, Karen Manecke (Aimee Elliot), Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Diane (Brian) Hall, Edgar, David (Denise) Manecke, Athens, and Tim (Laura) Manecke, Edgar; one brother, Rodell, Fenwood; 26 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.  
 

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kevin; two brothers, Ronnie and Henry; and four sisters, Carla, Florence, Ruth and Ione. 
 

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 15, 2009, at St. John Lutheran Church ELCA, Highway N, Edgar. The Rev. Al Houts will officiate. Burial in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, June 14, and again from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Monday, all at the church.
