Pflughoeft, Ida (28 December 1871 - 16 April, 1952) 

 

Mrs. Fred Pflughoeft, age 80, of The Town of Pine Valley, died at her home last Wednesday after an illness of six months. The body lay in state at the Georgas Funeral Home until the time for services on Saturday, when it was taken to the Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church. Rev. William Koehler was the officiating clergyman.  Interment was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.   

 

Mrs. Pflughoeft, nee Ida Haack, was born on December 28, 1871 to Mr. and Mrs. Fred Haack in Kewaunee County. She went to Milwaukee at the age of 17 where she worked for several years.  On August 10, 1895 she was married to Fred Pflughoeft at Neillsville.  They farmed on their present farm for the past 57 years. They cleared land and built the Zion Evangelical and Reformed buildings when they were first married.  She had been a resident of Clark County for the past 57 years. 

 

She is survived by five brothers and one sister, Lewis Haack of Algoma, Henry Haack of Waite Park, Minn., Leo Haack and August Haack of Anoka, Minn., Ferdinand Haack of Abbotsford, and Miss Mary Haack of Algoma, Wis.; two sons, Arthur and Leo at home and one daughter, Elizabeth of Milwaukee; and six grandchildren.  Mr. Pflughoeft preceded his wife in death on March 2, 1948.  One daughter, Minnie, Mrs. Mark Vornholdt, and one son, George, are also deceased. 

 

Pallbearers were George Schrage, Ted Haack, Herb Nickel, Ernest Kammer, William Maas and George Haack.  Floral offerings were in charge of Mrs. Herb Nickel and Mrs. Ted Haack.  The men’s chorus of the church sang two selections. 

 

Persons from out of town attending the rites included: George Haack, Leo Haack and August Haack of Anoka, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Henry Haack of Waite Park, Minn., Mrs. A. Jubeck, Donna Jubeck, Elizabeth Pflughoeft, Jack Gassemann and Mrs. Harry Hafrichter of Milwaukee, Miss Mary Haack, Louis Haack, Ernest Kammer and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kostichka of Algoma, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Haack, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Kramer and son Dennis, of Abbotsford, Mr. and Mrs. William Maas, Mr. and Mrs. George Schrage, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Haack of Marshfield and Mr. and Mrs. Herb Nickel of Granton.
