Mueller, Vera (Marriage - 17 Oct. 1951)

Miss Vera Mueller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Mueller, of Abbotsford, became the bride of Fred Blanke, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Blanke, of Athens, Route 1, Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 17, at 2:30 o’clock at Christ Lutheran church. The Rev. F. H. Sprengler read the double ring ceremony, during which Miss Sandra Fults, accompanied by Herbert Juneau sang "Jesus Lead Thou On."

The bride who was presented in marriage by her father, was attired in a white satin gown, featuring a long train, long sleeves and a net yoke trimmed with lace. Her finger tip veil fell from a crown of seed pearls. She carried a heart shaped arrangement of white orchids with colored lip and pink rosette roses.

Attending her was her friend, Miss Beverly Cendt. Her dress was yellow celanese sheer over satin with a net yoke trimmed with lace. She wore a yellow hat with ribbon to match her gown. Her flowers were also white orchids lavender pompons arranged heart shaped.

The Misses Barbara and Joyce Barker, of Park Falls, cousins of the bride, served as flower girls. Their long, white taffeta frocks had ruffled yokes, scalloped skirts, trimmed with yellow bows. In their hair they wore lavender button mums and carried miniature heart shaped bouquets of white and yellow button mums.

The mothers of the bridal couple had corsages of yellow and white mums.

Harold Goelden, friend of the groom, was best man.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church parlors where a 5:00 o’clock supper was served to about 65 guests. The wedding cake, which centered the table, was topped by a bride and groom. In the evening a wedding dance was held at the Colby Park pavilion.

Guests attending the wedding were from Oakfield, Dousman, Mayville, Waupaca, Athens, Wausau, Park Falls, Stratford, Owen, Loyal, Withee and Abbotsford, Wis.

Mr. and Mrs. Blanke left on a wedding trip to Kentucky, Pennsylvania and New York and on their return will make their home on the groom’s farm eight miles east of Abbotsford, Wis. Both young people are graduates of the Abbotsford high school.
