Furlong, Mary #2 (10 AUG 1825 - 15 MAR 1910)

Tuesday night, Mrs. Mary Furlong died at her home on the north side (Neillsville, Clark Co., Wis.).  She was born Mary A. Dibler in Westmoreland, Penn., on Aug. 10, 1825, to James and Susannah Dibler.  In 1849 she was married to James Furlong, and in 1860 they came to Neillsville, where Mr. Furlong engaged in lumbering and other business.  Mrs. Furlong was the surviving member of a large family, having been preceded in death by nine brothers and one sister, her husband and children also being dead.  Mr. Furlong died on Dec. 6, 1884, leaving his widow well provided form but unfortunate investments left the old lady in a poor financial condition.

Mrs. Furlong was a very estimable lady, and her many beneficent acts will long be remembered by those who have known and respected her for years.  She had a kindly and charitable disposition and was a thoroughly good woman.

The funeral will be held this afternoon at the family residence at 2 o’clock, Rev. Riser officiating.
