Kayhart, Charles #2 (23 MAR 1844 - 27 JUL 1909)

Died - Tuesday, July 27, 1909, at his home at Christie (Clark Co., Wis.), Charles Kayhart, aged 65 years, 5 months, 4 days.

Charles Kayhart was born at Boonton, N.J., March 23, 1844.  He spent his boyhood and young manhood there, and after serving in the Civil War in the 27th New Jersey Infantry, came to Clark County in April 1871, where he has since resided.  On Oct. 9, 1871, he was united in marriage to Harriet E. Smith and they were blessed with three children, Roy and Miss Neva, and Mrs. F. W. Draper, of this city, still survive him.  Two brothers, Edward of the town of Sherman, and Hiram of Dorchester, and one sister, Mrs. Margaret Harper of Woodburn, Ore, also survive him.

Deceased was a man of most exemplary habits and was a high type of honesty, integrity and industry.  He was progressive in his ideas, too considerable interest in public affairs, and was highly honorable because of his square dealings with his associates.  He worked hard to attain a competence, and his success in life was due to his own faithful efforts.

The funeral was held Friday afternoon at the Christies church, Rev. Burrows officiating, and was largely attended by sorrowing friends.
