Miss Gertrude Apfelbeck, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Apfelbeck, of Colby, became the bride of Francis X. Pevan, son of Mrs. Velma Pevan, of Chippewa Falls, on Wednesday, Oct. 27, at St. Mary’s Catholic church at Colby, Wis. The Rev. N. B. Beschta officiated at the double ring ceremony and celebrated the Nuptial High Mass.

Attending the bride were her cousin, Miss Josephine Vobsman, as maid of honor, and Miss Catherine Kromschuster, Chippewa Falls, as bridesmaid. The groom was attended by the bride’s brother, William Apfelbeck, and his brother, Laurence Pevan, Chippewa Falls.

The bride was gowned in white satin, fashioned with sweetheart neckline with lace insert, long sleeves, and full entrained skirt. Her finger tip veil was caught to a tiara of seed pearls and she carried a bouquet of white roses and ferns.

Miss Vobsman wore a gown of yellow taffeta with matching headband and carried a bouquet of white and yellow chrysanthemums. Miss Kromschuster wore a gown identical to that of the maid of honor’s only in blue taffeta with a matching headband and she carried a bouquet of white chrysanthemums and blue carnations.

In the afternoon a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, and supper was served to 75 guests.

Following a few days’ wedding trip to northern Wisconsin, the young couple will make their home in Chippewa Falls. The groom is employed by the National Pressure Cooker company in Eau Claire.
