Merwin, Joyce Elaine (Marriage - 13 July 1948)
Miss Joyce Elaine Merwin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Merwin, and David H. Stieber, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roman Stieber, Colby, exchanged marriage vows, Tuesday afternoon, July 13, at 2:00 o’clock, at St. Mary’s parsonage, Colby, Wis. The Rev. Nicholas Beschta read the double ring service.
Attending the couple were Mr. and Mrs. Joe Pech, brother-in-law and sister of the groom, of Unity, Wis.
For the occasion the bride wore a white wool gabardine suit and a large, white hat. A corsage of pink and white carnations and blue sweet peas accented her suit.
Mrs. Pech wore a pink suit and white hat. Her corsage was made of pink and white carnations.
Following the ceremony a reception and supper for the immediate families was held at the home of the bride’s parents, which was beautifully decorated with garden flowers.
Mr. and Mrs. Stieber left on a two weeks’ wedding trip which will include the north shore route on Lake Superior and the Black Hills.
On their return they will make their home in Colby where Mr. Stieber is manager of the Stieber Locker Plant. Mrs. Stieber is employed as dental assistant in the office of Dr. E. J. Schmidt, in Abbotsford, Wis.
