Schraufnagel, Frank (20 Feb. 1881 - 9 Feb. 1948)

Frank Schraufnagel, 67, was found dead near his car, on the town road, one-fourth mile south of Abbotsford, by a group of school children at about 3:30 o’clock Monday afternoon. A heart attack was given as the cause of death.

Mr. Schraufnagel was a born Feb. 20, 1881, in the town of Hull, Marathon county and lived on a farm in that community his entire life. He was married May 29, 1920, to Lena Schilling in Colby and she died Nov. 19, 1931.

Surviving are six children, Emil Schraufnagel, Nason; Alphonse and Cletus Schraufnagel, town of Hull; Miss Martha Schraufnagel, Chicago; Mrs. Floyd (Mary) Treankler, Abbotsford; and Arthur Schraufnagel, Neillsville; 11 grand children; five brothers, Norbert, Colby; Leonard, town of Hull; and Joseph, Michael and Henry, Glidden; and two sisters, Mrs. Herbert Schrauf, Richland Center; and Mrs. Theopholis Mischlisck, Keysville.

Funeral rites will be held Friday morning at 9:30 o’clock at St. Mary’s Catholic church, Colby, the Rev. N. B. Beschta officiating at the Requiem High Mass. Burial will be made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Lulloff Funeral Home, at Colby, until the time of the funeral services.

Funeral services for Frank Schraufnagel, 67, who died of a heart attack last week, were held Friday morning at St. Mary’s Catholic church in Colby, with the Rev. N. B. Beschta officiating at the Requiem High Mass. Burial followed in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Joseph Kunze, John Ohlinger, Leo and Frank Apfelbeck, A. J. Schmitt, and Lawrence Peterson. Flower girls were Virginia and Darlene Treankler, Mary and Stella Kunze and Donna Van Dreel.
