Hoffman, Max (8 Dec. 1871 - 14 Jan. 1948)

Funeral services for Max Hoffman, Sr., 76 years old, of Marshfield, who died Wednesday morning of a cerebral hemorrhage, will be held Saturday morning at 9:00 o’clock at St. John’s Catholic church, Marshfield.

Mr. Hoffman was born at Warrenried, Germany, Dec. 8, 1871, and came to America the age of 9. He lived in Iowa, Marshfield, and for a number of years operated farms near Dorchester and Colby, Wis. For the past four years he lived in Marshfield.

Surviving are his wife and eight children: Mrs. Ed (Frances) Kauffman, Jr., Dorchester; Joseph, Chicago; George, Abbotsford; Alfred, Marshfield; Mrs. Emil (Marian) Stacek, Marshfield; Mrs. Joseph (Margaret) Hiebsch, Curtiss; and Edmund, Colby, Wis. One son, Frank, preceded him in death in June, 1941.

There are 29 grand children, six great grand children, and one brother, Frank Hoffman, Sheboygan.
