Manning, Beatrice (16 Aug. 1947)
Miss Beatrice Manning and Lavern Michlig were united in marriage on Aug. 16 at 8:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s church at Maryville, Missouri, with the Rev. R. E. Graham officiating at a single ring ceremony which preceded the nuptial high mass.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Manning, of Maryville. Mr. Michlig is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Michlig, of Curtiss.
The bride was attired in a white off-the-shoulder gown, fashioned with an inset of sheer lace and long, pointed sleeves. The fitted bodice fell into a full skirt and graceful train. She wore a pearl trimmed halo crown of white satin with a fingertip veil of illusion. The bride carried an arm bouquet of gladioli tied with white satin streamers, and a white pearl rosary, a gift of her aunt. Her only jewelry was a gold Miraculous Medal, hanging from a gold chain.
Miss Lorraine Michlig, sister of the groom, was the bride’s only attendant. Her gown was made of lime green chiffon with an off the shoulder effect. She wore a matching halo.
Myron Ewert, of Curtiss, acted as best man.
Following the ceremony, a wedding breakfast was served for the bridal party and immediate relatives. A three tiered wedding cake, topped by a miniature bride and groom, served as a center piece.
The bride is a graduate of Horace Mann high school and has been employed for the past year at Denver, Colorado. The groom has served in the army for the past 18 months.
The couple is making their home with his parents, near Curtiss.
