Elroy V. Weiler, 82, of Abbotsford, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, November 30, 2013, at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital Palliative Care in Marshfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Colby. Father Daniel Hackel will officiate. Family and friends are welcome on Monday, December 2, 2013, at Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford from 3-7 p.m. with a Rosary at 4 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of the service at the church.

Military Honors will be provided by Colby VFW Post #2227.

Elroy V. Weiler, age 82, of Abbotsford, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital Palliative Care in Marshfield. Family and friends are welcome on Monday, December 2 at Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford from 3:00 to 7:00 PM with a Rosary at 4:00 PM and on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until time of the service at the church. Military Honors will be provided by Colby VFW Post #2227.

Elroy was born April 10, 1931 in Athens, the son of the late Sebastian "Buddy" and Anna (Post) Weiler. He attended school at St. Anthony in Athens. Elroy served in the US Marine Corp from 1952 - 54. He met his wife Mary A. Kunze and they were united in marriage on July 28, 1954 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Colby and resided in Abbotsford.

Elroy owned his own trucking company "Weiler General Trucking" for 10 years. He then drove truck for Sveberts Calf Ranch in Dorchester until he retired.

Elroy loved to spend time with his family. He also enjoyed fishing, camping and watching the Packers. Elroy took great pride maintaining his lawn and garden for everyone to enjoy. He also liked to feed and watch the birds at his feeders. Elroy was also a member of the Abbotsford American Legion Post #139.

Elroy is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary of Abbotsford; his five sons: Daniel (Rebecca) of Colby, Jim (Cindy) of Unity, Larry (Carolyn) of Abbotsford, Kim of Edmond, OK and Scott (Dawn) of Unity; 14 grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. He is further survived by six sisters and one brother; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
