Broeren, Inez (3 February 1912 - 28 April 2009)

 

Inez I. Broeren, 97, formerly of Tiskilwa, died Tuesday April 28, 2009 at Colonial Hall Care Center, Princeton.

 

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Fiocchi-Jensen Funeral Home, Princeton with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Tiskilwa. Rev. Kevin Creegan and Deacon John Murphy officiated. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Tiskilwa. Visitation was Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home with a rosary service at 6:30 p.m.

 

She was born on February 3, 1912 in Clark County Wisconsin to Edmund and Ula (Graham) Cook. She married Henry Broeren in 1932. They moved to Tiskilwa in 1937 with their two sons. Henry preceded her in death in 1971.

 

After Henry’s death Inez went to Thorp, Wisconsin to care for her aging parents. She returned to Princeton in 1999. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Tiskilwa.

 

Inez was a homemaker, and worked in various jobs in Tiskilwa and Thorp, retiring in 1987. She had many passions but her faith; family, friends, bridge and dancing (especially the Polka in Wisconsin) were her primary.

 

She is survived by one son, Quentin (Patricia) Broeren of Tucson, Arizona; a daughter-in-law, Cecile Broeren of Altamont, IL; five grandchildren: Stuart, Rachel, Timothy, Gwenda, and Mark; and eight great-grandchildren, Michael, Gregory, Allison, Chad, Margaret, Daniel, Henry and Madeline.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, in 1971; one son, Wayne, in 1991; and one grandson, Thomas in 1986.
