Eggert, William (24 Mar. 1887 - Apr. 1947)

Funeral services for William Eggert, 60 years old, who died at Memorial hospital, Wausau, of burns received April 15, were held Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 at the Ritter & Deutsch Funeral Home at Wausau, with the Rev. E. L. Schipp of the Foursquare Gospel church officiating. Burial was made in Pine Grove cemetery, Wausau.

William Eggert was born March 24, 1887, in Germany. At the age of three years he came to Cedarburg, Wis., and in 1901 to the Jerkwater vicinity where he lived on a farm.

In 1944 he went to Wausau where he was employed at the Underwood Veneer company. While at his work there, about 5:00 p.m. on April 15, he fell into a vat of boiling water and suffered second and third degree burns, which resulted in his death.

John W. Hildensperger, Marathon county coroner, stated there would be no inquest, as it was accidental death.

Mr. Eggert is survived by Mrs. Eggert and three daughters, Ramona, Lavilla and Yvonne, of Abbotsford, Wis. His father, Ferdinand Eggert, and sister, Mrs. Carl Behring, reside at Wausau; his brothers, Herman, at Milwaukee; and Albert, at Oshkosh.
