Page, Mary E. #3 (30 JUN 1867 - 9 AUG 1908)

Last Sunday occurred the death of one of Clark County’s most beloved women. Mrs. Warren Page, known and beloved by her friends as Nelly Page, passed away at her home at Granton. She was born Mary Ellen Dows to Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Dows on June 30, 1867, and grew to young womanhood at her birthplace on Pleasant Ridge (Clark Co., Wis.). Sept. 23, 1888, she was united in marriage to Warren Page and they made their home at Granton,w here Mr. Page was engaged in business.

Mrs. Page was a woman of whom the highest words of praise are inadequate to express the many beautiful qualities of which she was possessed. She was intelligent and refined, had a cheerful and pleasant disposition, was a most excellent wife and mother, and lived a life replete with goodness and kind acts. If her reward on high is to be measured by the life of purity and goodness she lived while on the earth, it will be one of the most abundant within the power of Him whom she held in such great respect and fear.

Mrs. Page was the mother of three sons and one daughter, Leland, Milton, Irl and Miss Lulu, all of whom remain to comfort the husband and her father in their great bereavement. The funeral was held Tuesday at the family home in Granton. Rev. Burrows conducted the services. The interment was made in the Neillsville Cemetery at the side of the deceased’s mother, who preceded her in death fourteen year ago. The funeral was largely attended, and the esteem in which Mrs. Page was held was indicated by the many beautiful floral offerings.
