Mattick, Franz Leo (13 Sept. 1888 - 9 Dec. 1946)

Funeral services for Leo Mattick, 58, who died Monday, were held this afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the Zink Funeral Home, where the body has been lying in state. The Rev. Griffiths conducted the services after which internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Frank and Lawrence Hopfensperger, Ed Lueth, Albert Leu, Ed Hirtz and Emil Radetsky.

Born Sept. 13, 1888, in the village of Abbotsford, Franz Leo Mattick made his home in this vicinity all of his life. He lived with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Mattick, in the village until the family moved, in 1912, to their farm just north of the cemetery. Five years ago they moved to another farm north east of Abbotsford and have since lived in the town of Holton.

Mr. Mattick was admitted to St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield, Nov. 7, and was a surgical patient there for two weeks. After about five days at his home he was re-admitted to the hospital, where he died Monday night at 8:55.

He leaves two brothers, Ewald and Henry, both on the farm. His father preceded him in death in 1942 and his mother in 1929. A brother, Paul, was killed in a railroad wreck in 1911 and a brother, William, died in 1936.

Among the relatives from away who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Albert Brown and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Zinke, of Stevens Point.
