Weix, Patricia (Marriage - 1 Oct. 1946)

Miss Patricia Weix, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Weix, Colby, Route 1, became the bride of Frank Carpenter, son of Mrs. Cathryn Carpenter of Abbotsford, Tuesday morning, at 8:30. The Rev. N. Beschta performed the double ring ceremony before the nuptial high mass in St. Mary’s Catholic church, Colby, Wis.

The bride wore a gown of white slipper satin, designed with a fitted bodice with self trim buttons down the back, long sleeves and a sweetheart neck line. A net overskirt over satin ended in a long train. Her veil, also made with a train, was lace edged and fell from a beaded head piece. She wore a string of pearls and carried a bouquet of white lilies, carnations and American beauty roses.

Attending her as maid of honor was her cousin, Miss Kathryn Beer, of Le Center, Minn. A blue frock of net over satin with little pink bows tied on, a gold locket, a matching veil with floral headpiece and a wrist corsage completed her ensemble.

Miss Jean Alexander, of Abbotsford, a friend of the bride and Mirs. Lyle Kilty, sister of the bride, of Unity, were bridesmaids. Miss Alexander wore a pink dress with satin bodice and net over satin skirt. Mrs. Kilty also wore a pink dress designed with a lace bodice and lace insertions in the net skirt worn over taffeta. They both wore matching veils fastened by flowers, gold lockets and wrist corsages.

Clarence Carpenter, of Abbotsford, was his brother’s best man. The ushers were Alphonse Weix, brother of the bride, and Lyle Kilty, brother-in-law of the bride.

Following the ceremony a reception throughout the day was held at the home of the bride’s parents. The home was decorated with white, pink and blue streamers. Covers were laid for 100 guests. The center piece at the bridal table was a decorated cake topped by a miniature bride and groom.

In the evening, a wedding dance was held at Walter’s pavilion.

Mr. and Mrs. Carpenter will have a short wedding trip to northern Wisconsin, after which they will be at home to friends in Colby where the groom is employed at the Northwest Distributing company.
