Geiger, Frank (1 July 1879 - 15 Sept. 1946)

Funeral services were held this morning at 9:00 o’clock at St. Louis’ Catholic church, Dorchester, for Frank Geiger, Sr., 67, who died of Bright’s disease, Sunday night at 10:25 o’clock at St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield, where he had been a patient since Aug. 14.

The Rev. Phillip T. Weller officiated at the Requiem High Mass and burial took place in the parish cemetery.

Mr. Geiger was born July 1, 1879, and was married Oct. 22, 1901, at St. Louis’ church, Dorchester, to Anna Metz, of Sherwood. They came to Dorchester in the fall of 1901 and after their marriage settled west of Dorchester where they lived until two years ago this month, when they sold the farm and moved to the village of Dorchester to live.

He was a member of St. Louis’ church and the Catholic Order of Foresters.

Surviving are his wife and 16 children, Mrs. Henry (Mae) Patrie, of Marshfield; Mike Geiger, Dorchester; Frank Geiger, Jr., Abbotsford; Mrs. Anton (Anna) Wittmann, Marshfield; Mrs. William (Elsie) Pupp, Abbotsford; Mrs. Herman (Frances) Gebhard, Marshfield; Joseph Geiger, Wausau; Mrs. Victor (Lucy) Carpenter, Spencer; Mrs. Richard (Helen) Pacourek, Marshfield; Aloysius Geiger, Wausau; Mrs. George (Agnes) Pupp, Stratford; Henry Geiger, Milwaukee; Mrs. Walter (Henrietta) Wels, Marshfield; Anthony Geiger, Marshfield; Mrs. Edward (Ethel) Pupp, Edgar; and Leo Geiger, Loyal. Another son, Benedict, died in infancy.

Also surviving are 63 grand children; a sister, Mrs. Ed Meyer, Dorchester; and four brothers, Joseph Geiger, Dorchester; William and John Geiger, Appleton; and Henry Geiger, Louisville, Ky. Three sisters and a brother are dead.
