Some weeks ago Al Snow bought the remaining 20 acres of E.R. Behringer.  He may sell his house and in that case Al will build on the land.

Herman Montag sold his house to H.A. Knot, consideration $1300.00.  Herman will move out Wednesday and Henry Knoll will move in immediately.

J.W. Bailey sold his house to T.J. Harriman.  Thede sold the house again to W.C. Crego.  Mr. Crego will fix up the house in good shape and have a cellar built before he moves in.

Henry Knoll sold his farm to an uncle of Rudolph Ebert.  The new owner will move in at once.

The directors of the Chili Bank held their monthly meeting Monday of this week.

Geo. Allen arrived today to visit a little while with his brother L.A. Allen.

At the town meeting Tuesday there were $130.00 voter for the improvement of the streets of Chili, the work to be supervised by the town board.

Mrs. Harley Graves and daughter Helen of Spencer visited the former’s sister Mrs. Will Gantwoort part of last week.

Mr. and Mrs. E.A. Beeckler were over Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. C.R. Waterman.

Mr. A. Schuster and Mr. Ripleman joined their wives here Sunday at Mrs. Minnie Prueta.  All went home to Stratford Monday morning.

The Chili school contest was held Friday afternoon, April 3rd.  In the adding contest Rene Gibson won 1st place, Gladys Henning, 2nd place and Ella Verhagen, 3rd place.  In the spelling contest Ella Verhagen won 1st place, Gladys Henning won 2nd place and Clara Neinas 3rd place.

The town contest will be held at the school house Thursday evening, April 16th.  Everyone is invited.

Mrs. Anthony Schuster who has been visiting at Humbird enroute for her home at Stratford, Wednesday stopped off here for a few days visit with her mother, Mrs. Minnie Prust.

Mrs. Minnie Prust accompanied by her grand-daughter Apel Schuster has returned from a couple of weeks visit at Stratford.

Miss Lena Marten and niece Irene Malamphy spent a few days last week at the John Bladl home in Granton.
