Kleppe, Ruby (JUN 1926)

Miss Ruby Kleppe, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Theo. Kleppe, was united in marriage. Rev. Kleppe was the minister at the United Lutheran Church here several years ago. The bride will be remembered here by many. The following account of the wedding is taken from the Chippewa Falls Herald:

"One of the pettiest weddings of the season was that of Miss Ruby Helene Kleppe, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Theo. Kleppe, and Mr. Nels Hanchus of Eau Claire, which was solemnized at the Scandinavian Lutheran Church, the ceremony being performed by the father of the bride in the presence of relatives and close friends of the families, and a number of members of the congregation. The church was effectively decorated with ferns, palms and vari-colored gladiolas, making a beautiful background for the impressiveness of the marriage ritual. The members of the bridal party proper were: Mr. and Mrs. Syverson, man and matron of honor; Miss Myrtle Hanchus, bridesmaid, and sister of the groom; Allen Losby of Eau Claire, friend of the groom, and best man; Miss Agnes Oppen, Lake Crystal, maid of honor; Miss Ruth Delager, organist, of Minneapolis, fellow graduates of the bride at the McPhail School of Music; Eva Kleppe, sister of the bride, flower girl; Miss Agnes McClurg of Spring Valley, vocalist; Lawrence Larson and Olaf Thorp Jr., ushers. All the girl attendants were dressed in the pastel shades and carried flowers to harmonize.

The bride's gown was of white satin faced crepe, entrain; she wore a veil caught with a bandeau of orange blossoms and carried a shower bouquet of white roses and swansonia, mingled with sprays of green.

The bride's mother wore gray satin faced crepe with hat to match, and corsage of sweet peas. The mother of the groom wore black crepe with corsage of sweet peas.

The bridal party entered the church to the strains of the Bridal Chorus from Wagner's "Lohengrin," played by Miss Ruth Deflager. They entered in the following order, the ushers, the officiating clergyman, the matron of honor, the bridesmaid, the maid of honor, and next, the bride, unattended and met by the groom at the altar. The bridal party was met by the best man and man of honor. The ring ceremony was used.

During the ceremony, Miss McClurg sang "I love You Truly" and "O Promise Me."

A reception and breakfast followed at the Hotel Northern, six courses being served. Decorations carried out the prevailing color scheme of pink and white, and the tables were beautiful with pink roses and ferns in vases set at intervals, and lighted pink candles in crystal holders. Allen Losby acted as toastmaster and responses were made by different guests. In addition to the bridal party, the following guests were present: Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Olson and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Erickson of Spring Valley, Mrs. Eva Frederickson, Chetek, Mr. and Mrs. James Onerheim, Milwaukee, and Mr. T. Thompson, Greenwood.

The bride was the recipient of many beautiful gifts in crystal, flat and hammered silver, and choice embroidered linen.

After a trip to various points on the Pacific coast, Mr. and Mrs. Hanchus will make their home in Eau Claire, where Mr. Hanchus is employed as a bank examiner.
