The parsonage of the Evangelical and Reformed Church at Colby was the scene at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, 1950, of the marriage of Miss Selma E. Burtard, daughter of Mr.a nd Mrs. John O. Burtard, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) to Herbert Bloom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank O. Bloom, Dorchester, with the Rev. Franz Puhlmann officiating.
The bride’s costume included an aqua suit, and a black hat, accented with a bouquet of four red tiger lilies.
The matron of honor, Mrs. Carl R. Bloom, Dorchester, was attired in a caramel suit with green hat, with red tiger lilies pinned to her suit. Her bridesmaid, Miss Dora Ackerman, Curtiss, cousin of the bride, wore a grey hat and had a cluster of three corsage was three yellow tiger lilies.
Attending the groom were his brother, Carl R. Bloom, Dorchester, as best man, and Orville Burtard, Owen, a brother of the bride, as groomsman.
A upper was served at the home of the bride’s parents for 25 guests. After the wedding dance in their honor at the Colby Park, a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents.
The bride attended the Owen High School and the groom is a graduate of the Marshfield Senior High School.
When the newlyweds return from a wedding trip in northern Wisconsin, they will reside with the groom’s parents for the present, on their farm near Dorchester, Wis.
