Dale Elliott, who has recently been discharged from the service, visited at the Leighton Stoker home. On Wednesday he left for Granton and plans to be back here Sunday.

Mrs. George Stump left last week, Wednesday, for Melbourne, Florida, where her daughter, Mrs. Arvel Burris, is critically ill in a hospital.

Mr. and Mrs. Art Meschefske and family, Stetsonville, visited at the Alfred Scheel home, Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hopperdietzel and daughter, Mary Lu, of Athens, visited her mother, Mrs. Edith Kramer, Tuesday. Mr. Hopperdietzel is now working for Northwest Distributing Co., Colby, Wis.

The birthday anniversary of John Michlig was celebrated at his home, Monday evening, when friends and neighbors spent the evening playing pinochle. High scores were won by Mrs. George Telford and Henry Voightlander; second high by Mrs. Nels Frederickson and Ted Frane; low by Mrs. Ambrose Keller and William Anderson. High bids were made by Miss Ellen Voightlander and Nels Frederickson.

Harry Olson is having Don Ingersoll help him in the cheese factory, since his son, Harvey, left for the service.

The Sunday School Mission met this afternoon at the home of Mrs. Norma Johnson. Mrs. Ervin Bitter and Mrs. Elmer Schraufnagel were hostesses.

Miss Anna B. Hanson, Wausau, spent Tuesday evening with her sister, Mrs. Norman Johnson.

Mrs. J. B. Fleischman was a patient at St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield, Thursday. She went there for eye examination.

Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Weix and family attended the wedding of his brother, Henry, and Mary Downer, last week, Wednesday. The reception was held at the Downer home east of Spencer.

Seven tables were in play at the card party given Jan. 17 at the Royal Neighbor hall, by the V.F.W. Auxiliary. Mrs. Clarence Anderson and Henry Voightlander received the first prizes, and Mrs. William Bogaard and John Schefsick the second. The general prize was won by Art Nagel. The next card party will be held Sunday, Jan. 27, at the Royal Neighbor hall.
